We watch sad movies. We read sad books. We listen to sad songs. But we don’t like the ending to be sad. Although there might be pain in the beginning and struggle in the middle, we stay with the story because we hope there will be joy in the end. That is what makes Easter so special. It has taken the darkest and saddest of endings and turned it into the ending of the story that makes all the rest of it worthwhile.
